The "dumping .osm to API exists now", see

I've only tried it from my local computer and the performance seems
ok. Havn't tried it on big enough files to be able to benchmark it
though. Network latency is the real killer in the end.

It would be cool to test it from some machine on the same LAN as www,
just to see what the possible performence could be.
