[OSM-dev] Map of the whole world, starting with europe

Hello Diarmuid,

I have a commercial mapserver running at www.mapserv.nl. The worlddata 
is available for free and we are looking at implementing OSM data into 
our wms service.

Another option would be demis. Have you looked at what they offer? Their 
maps are available as wms services that can be connected to openlayers.

http://www.mapserv.nl/Flamingomaps/ shows a sample of the demis data on 
the left and my own data on the right. the coastlines would be detailed 
enough I think to fit to your satisfaction.
