Clear, accurate documentation is never frowned apon! One of the devs
with more API knowledge may want to give it a quick glance, but from
what I can see it looks fine.

(And opinionated emails from me aside, I'm certainly not one of the
powers that be! Although I think you'd have a hard time finding out
exactly what counts as TPTB in OSM, we're a fairly meritocratic
group.)
