How about removing the (in my mind) pointless google adsense ads and 
replacing with the previously suggested wikipedia-style funding bar, 
counting up to the purchase of 2 killer servers.... ;-)  (1 Master DB, 1 
slave and current master moving to maybe another slave.)

I am sure there are now some MySQL gurus involved with OSM who'll sort 
out any replication issues, if asked.
