There is a completely void-filled version of the SRTM data available at
http://srtm.csi.cgiar.org/.
The data has been painstakingly corrected in voids by taking data from
topographic maps in many areas, although some mechanically filled areas
remain.
It also claims to fix the pixelshift that some the SRTM data distributed
through the USGS seamless server (which has just been fixed just last
week).
