[OSM-dev] PUT /api/0.4/way/<wayid> returns 500

If I try to modify data for a way, I consistently get error code 500,
even though the database is being updated.

Starting from the data returned by OSM for this way, I tried omitting
certain attributes before uploading it, but I wasn't able to find
something that would be processed without an error.

Is this a know defect, or are there some other restrictions that have to
be observed?
