[OSM-dev] RAILS memory leaks

hi,

i have been looking at this from walking ruby object heap, and i can't see anything obvious out of the ordinary. however, from the amount of memory being used (substantially more than final response xml size) it seems to me it would make sense if it is related to internal representation of the osm nodes/segs/ways.

this rings true with memory leaks reported/known for ruby/libxml:

http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=7945&group_id=494&atid=1971
http://osdir.com/ml/lang.ruby.modules.libxml.devel/2007-01/msg00002.html

pfft, is this right? if so, why wasn't this cropping up in 0.3?

i guess i'll try rexml and see if that removes leak...

cheers, dan.
