I was the original developer but I haven't used it for months, so I  
cannot even say whether it still works. Are you sure that your gpsd  
listens on localhost port 2947? While gpsd is running you should see  
something like

tcp       0      0  *.2947                  *.*                     
LISTEN

when you do a "netstat -ln".

Are you sure that you have activated the "Capture GPS track" menu  
option in JOSM?
