Indeed it is.

Absolutely. I read using webmail during the day, a Proper Mail Client  
at night. The PMC is quite capable of sorting into folders depending  
on sender etc., but the webmail client isn't, and I like to be able  
to identify at a glance what's OSM mail and what isn't.

Besides, even if you can assume that readers of dev@ have "clients  
with powerful filtering capabilities", you certainly can't assume  
that for talk at .
