Some Garmins can do one-touch (sort of) auto-numbered waypoints. It's sort
of a man overboard function. If you have a 60 or 76 series, hold down the
Enter key. If you have an eTrex series, hold down the click stick
(equivalent of enter). If you have a nuvi, I'm not sure if you can... It's
not entirely one-touch, though, because you have to go down and click OK or
Save or whatever, but it does capture the position you're at when you press
the button, and the waypoint number does increment automatically.
