I also see some strange things. I changed the oceantiles.dat around Antarctica 
and started rendering there.
<http://informationfreeway.org/?lat=-77.1114&lon=-155.888&zoom=12&layers=B0000F000F> 
does not show my rendered tile, but the tileinfo of that tile there 
<http://server.tah.openstreetmap.org/Browse/details/tile/12/274/3469/> does, and 
so does the map if you click on that tile.

BTW: I do like to urge renderers to do an svn up at least once a day so your 
oceantiles.dat will not get too out of date.
