[OSM-dev] OSM APIs?

That's the sort of thing I am thinking of (but probably using a standard set
of queries so that you can display specific icons to show the retrieved
data). I also have the idea of letting the user hover the mouse pointer
over the icon and getting it to display any available additional information
stored in the node tags.
To be useable though it needs access to a nice quick database that can
return all of the nodes within a specific bounding box that meet specific
criteria.
That is what I am trying to get working at the moment...
