That's still very far off for the part of the world I live in, so I
wouldn't worry too much about the future of GPX. As for noise I agree,
tools like JOSM (or the API) should have some sort of filtering to
exclude old traces when the number of traces reaches a certain
threshold. Maybe they already do that?
