How data are handled on this dew servers?

If I upload thru this dev server (i.e. new06) things remain there and
then they are overwritten from the stream coming from the "official"
DB?

Can I do test uploads to this dev servers and see them rendered?

Then? Do I need to erase them? Or are they overwritten with a clean DB?
