[OSM-dev] Old data in the namefinder

Hello,
Could somebody on this list explain why the namefinder service (
http://gazetteer.openstreetmap.org/namefinder/) is running with a quite old
snapshot of OSM data (Index from OpenStreetMap data up to 9 Jan 2009)?

For me (a normal OSM user) is very strange to have a very old database for
the namefinder.

I have asked the same question on the OSM dev forum and I received the
recommendation for trying on one of the mailing lists.
