OK. I've put that in now if you want to give it a try and make sure it's 
right now - the signup date on your user page should be a Saturday...

The master for that is http://github.com/svenfuchs/rails-i18n but I have 
a fork at http://github.com/tomhughes/rails-i18n with our local changes 
in that I will add that to and try and get it pushed back upstream.

It's all automatic - as far as I know any key in the en.yml file should 
show up for translation. Certainly the pt-BR translation has html.dir in 
it. Ævar might know more.
