Hi,

I'd like to pre-render the zooms 0 to 14 or 15 and render on-demand the
higher zooms.

As you suggested, I've edited speedtest.cpp (zoom range and bbox only)
But i cannot succeed with compiling. I dont know how to proceed with that,
can you explain me ?

My final wish is to have a background process which is rendering the old
tiles permanentely.
Render_old and render_all seems to be the way to follow, but when i run it
it says :

$>:~/bin/mod_tile$ ./render_old
Rendering old tiles
Planet file updated at Mon Dec 6 17:34:47 2010
Starting 1 rendering threads
socket connect failed for: /tmp/osm-renderd
Unable to open directory: /var/lib/mod_tile/default/18
Waiting for rendering threads to finish

Total for all tiles rendered
Meta tiles rendered: Rendered 0 tiles in 0.48 seconds (0.00 tiles/s)
Total tiles rendered: Rendered 0 tiles in 0.48 seconds (0.00 tiles/s)
Total tiles handled: Rendered 288 tiles in 0.48 seconds (601.02 tiles/s)

The render deamon is located in /var/run/renderd/ and is working properly.
Any suggestions ?

Thank you in advance

Nicolas
