yes. obviously assuming you change the date each day ;-)

i don't think there are any plans to disable it, but keep an eye on
the lists - it'll be announced here if the plans change.

there are hourly replication diffs at
http://planet.openstreetmap.org/hour-replicate which are recommended
for hourly use.

i've cleaned up the wiki page describing the use of the diffs
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Planet.osm/diffs and please let me
know if you have any more questions so it can be further improved.
