[OSM-dev] Mapnik2 in Tirex?

I think that maybe I compiled it against mapnik2, the Makefile states:

"LDFLAGS=-lmapnik2 -lboost_filesystem -lboost_system -licuuc -lboost_regex"

I am not sure about the syntax how to call it, if I do:
$ /usr/lib/tirex/backends/mapnik
I get:
Cannot load any Mapnik styles
