[OSM-dev] Huge rendering problem on the main map, Mapnik, z17

Something went wrong. There is a huge area with orange background
rendering in zoom level 17.

I figured out the extent, it seems to be around 552 square degrees!

The borders seem to be:
the south-western corner is this:

the south-eastern corner is:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=-8.66793&mlon=90.01891&zoom=17&layers=M
the north-eastern corner is:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=-0.02202&mlon=90.01101&zoom=17&layers=M

note that the eastern border has some steps.
