We're using 0.81.0 but I'm not sure if it has any patches applied as 
it's a copy that Kai built specifically for us.

In any case as I understand that bug, the point is that once a bogus way 
gets left in the db updating osm2pgsql won't help - a full reimport of 
the db will be needed.
