That's exactly what I was doing- telling the candidates something
helpful, which is that they should do some research into the project
that they're applying for before applying. Getting basics like the
name of the project wrong is likely going to come off badly to a
prospective mentor.
Also, where I was offering help, you were offering criticism, which
isn't very nice.
