Hello Everyone,

My name is Isuru Chamara, I'm a third year Undergraduate of University of
Moratuwa, Sri lanka, I'm currently studying for bachelors degree in
Computer Science and Engineering.

I'm interested in the project idea : Web application for sharing 3D-Models
to use in OSM-related 3D-Applications

I have working experience in Web development, HTML, PHP, CSS, MySQL,
phpMyAdmin, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, RESTful Web Services and have
experience in using GitHub, Bitbucket, JIRA. Also I've done several Web
related projects in my University and also at my Internship workplace. I'm
more than happy to research and learn any new technologies regarding to
this project.

What I have understood about the project from the quote,

*"The student is tasked to write a web application that allows uploading
and managing 3D models for buildings and street furniture but also for
textures to use in OSM. Ideally the website also features comments, a JS
based live view of the models and so on."*

..was that this web application is like a Content Management System, where
different users can log in / out and also they can upload their 3D model
related files to the server. Web application is connected to a central
database where all the user profile information and data will be stored.
Then the users can view / filter these models using various aspects. Also
users can download (if they have privileges) files. Moreover users can
comment on different items, may be they can rate items on their
preferences. Based on the level of permission, users can also remove items
from the database. Regarding the live preview of models : it can be a
series of photos from different sides or can be a 360 degree view that the
user can rotate and view to get a realistic experience.

So I want to know what do you guys think about the project and about my
point of view.

I'm grateful if you can provide necessary information regarding this
project for me to get started,

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Isuru Chamara
