[OSM-dev] Proposition: POI overlay for OSM website

As a suggestion in response to recent controversies: could we have, on the main website, options to put layers of varying POIs that end users can choose to overlay on the map? This could either be part of a vector tiles system or stand alone on top of the existing raster tiles.

As an additional bonus it could be made usable separately from the rest of the website for people to use for their own maps.
