[OSM-dev] Drupal Module

I am developing a module for Drupal at https://www.drupal.org/project/openstreetmap and would like to get feedback on additional features from this community.

For those unfamiliar with Drupal, it is a content management system. It is like the more popular WordPress, but is much more flexible and configurable. I use it to manage several Bay Area sites.

This plugin has two purposes: First, to import OSM data locally to display on a map, (see https://sf-fire.org/find-your-station) but also to make pages out of those OSM objects (see https://sf-fire.org/fire-station/san-francisco-fire-station-5, which on the backend is linked with OSM and will update when OSM does). The OSM object in Drupal contains additional properties specific to the Drupal site but stays in sync with properties registered in OSM.

It also contains some utilities for managing saved Overpass queries.

I wrote this when I was less familiar with OSM and essentially just to solve a problem that I had. I’m working on getting it ready for a 1.0 launch and am interested in taking input from the OSM community, preferably from fellow site-builders. What would you like to see?

One possibility is two-way flow where, for example, a government agency could manage some private or otherwise OSM-irrelevant data in Drupal but also update public data like opening hours by using their website CMS.

Thanks in advance for your time,
herrshuster
