Hey all-

I mentioned at the BoF at SOTMUS that my former employer, Rainforest Action
Network, had a good set of anti-oppression principles that were adapted in
large part from the* Community Coalition for Environmental Justice’s
Principles of Unity*

The Principles: http://ran.org/anti-oppression-principles

Could this task force propose something similar to the community/foundation
at large?

Also, we had mentioned putting out a statement as an OSM task force that
identified both goals we wanted to work on and organizations we are
partnering with to reach those goals. Some suggestions for orgs that we may
want to reach out to:

All the groups on this page: http://engagementlab.org/who-we-work-with/
http://www.domaproject.org
http://www.adl.org/
http://shesgeeky.org/
http://www.girlswhocode.com
http://www.orurisa.org/WomenInGIS
And so many more. Perhaps a spreadsheet is in order to see where we have
contacts and keep track of relationships?

Also, we might consider coming up something snappy and shareable that we
can pitch to sites like www.upworthy.com and www.jezebel.com to raise
awareness and outreach for new mappers of every stripe. Maybe an awesome
map graphic??

Are there some actionable items that we can all work on or discuss? I am
going to be a bit MIA for July/August, but wanted to get this conversation
started and let this group know that I hope to jump back in to working on
this task force in September.

It was great to meet you all at SOTMUS!

Cheers-
Martha
