FYI: Valerie from Ada Initiative writes that she'll publish any blog posts
we put together. If people want to write about any of the issues discussed
or work done to address the OSM gender gap, don't just send them our way --
when them to Valerie as well.
Thanks Tamara for the introduction!

Hi all,
We're so glad you enjoyed AdaCamp (SF and DC)!
We'd love to write a giant guide to increasing women's participation in an
open community, but we never have enough funding to do so - and we don't
know all the answers yet. The standard stuff does make a difference. Python
is an excellent example of a community that did All the Things and
succeeded in increasing women's participation:
* Active public leadership from the top
* Women's in-person meetup groups
* Online women's group
* Scholarships for women at conferences
* Code of conduct/anti-harassment policies
Check out the Geek Feminism Wiki and our own programs page for ideas about
what works.
It might also be great to increase awareness of the gender distribution in
OSM - I had no idea it was open source software levels of women. :(
In general, we are happy to publish any blog posts you write about
implementing this: about scholarships, the level of women, any meetups for
women, etc. Feel free also to run your ideas past us - we can tell you what
has worked in the past.
