I'm a big fan and early adopter of MariaDB, it's awesome, my blog is
full of it. I hardly know postgresql, and there is a reason: I almost
never need to touch it to make it work stable. Tune it once (before
import, 'untune' it for import/index) and live hapily ever after.
If it comes down to performance, I think postgresql still beats mariadb
on performance but I've never truly benchmarked it. I wish more sites
used postgresql. We should try to benchmark it. MariaDB should replace
all mysql stock installs, GIS or NOGIS.
