We usually provide a sufficiently large server for GSoC contributors once
they get accepted. So hardware won't be an issue for a successfully
finished project.

If you want to start playing with the existing scripts right now, you
can restrict the scripts to working only with a single language. The
hardware requirements will be much less then.
