[Gsoc-orga] Midterm Valhalla Review

Hi,

Sarah said she updated others already on our problems with the Valhalla mentee. So here’s our final agreement.

We had a meeting with her today where Kevin and me agreed shortly before, that we’ll fail her early bcs of the unkept promises she made regarding timeline of her actual start (there was the end of an internship we knew about, but that kept extending). We also did warn her early enough that we can’t review nonexistent work which would be a failure. And in the past 10 days, we didn’t feel that she was making up for that properly, in the little time we had left until mid-term review.

Anyways, we told her so in the meeting and after a longer discussion we agreed to give her the benefit of the doubt and continue. Under the clear premise that if she’ll miscommunicate (or show severe signs of slack) like this again, that’ll be it.I’m pretty confident she understood. Now that we continue, we’ll also want to extend the project by the time she wasn’t available at the start (approx 5 weeks).

Also apologies for the lack of early communication on our end with you. We should’ve immediately filed for an extension of the mid-term evaluation. A lesson for next time.
