Hi Kamil,

thnaks for getting in touch with us. Your idea would fit very well in
the scheme of GSOC and from your mail I understand that you already have
some experience with mapping relations yourself, which would be an
essential requirement for such a task. So I recommend that you submit a
project proposal for your idea. See
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/2023#Writing_the_application
for details what such a proposal should contain. Given that editing data
has a lot of difficult corner cases to be taken into account, I would
recommend a long project (350h).

The main problem from our side is that we'd need to find a mentor for
you. Ideally, we'd find a project where you can just add the
functionality and the maintainer of the project becomes your mentor.
OSM Relation Analyser (http://ra.osmsurround.org) comes to mind but I'm afraid
that this project has been stale for many years now. Simon, Tobias,
any other ideas?

If you have to write the web app as a stand-alone tool, what language
would you use?

Kind regards

Sarah
