[OHM] Tagging history

I am relatively new to OHM, but one of the things i have immediately
noticed from the start is that often times ways will change tags over time.
 a perfect example is a railway gets turned into a greenway for running and
biking.  I am wondering if there is a way to give tags a start and end date
instead of the whole way which often times still exists.
