I also helped with the road import. Some of the urban areas definitely
made me cringe a little and I would not be surprised to see most of it
wiped out and replaced with fresh data once a local person starts
mapping there. Perhaps we should have only imported major roads in
more urban areas. As with any import: local, up to date knowledge
should always trump the import. I think a lot of the usefulness of the
import was more in rural areas so that people could navigate from one
town to another.

As you work on improving the area I would suggest that you do try to
maintain connectivity on the major roads though. The area you linked
to has a big gap in the middle of the town where it looks like you
removed and replaced the western part but you haven't gotten to the
eastern part yet. That gap will affect routing all along the coast. So
even if it isn't finished yet, I would try to leave the map in a
routable state at the end of your edit sessions.
