Clay, 
Thanks for sharing your experience with outreach at conferences for underrepresented communities. At MapBox we take growing diversity both internally and within our communities very seriously, and do a lot to push that forward. Rest assured a tweet from someone not even on the team is not the extent of our efforts ; )

This could be a great topic though to present to the diversity list - what are people doing successfully to reach out to underrepresented communities around job openings, events, trainings, speaking opportunities, etc. Alyssa, maybe we could start up a google doc or wiki around that?
