Harry,
Problem of communication. I was reporting earlier this sunday that both you and Andrew had started to update a wiki page. And the wiki page url was mentionned. I think that Andrew did the same before.
This intervention is well started as is and we can coordinate the remote mapping through this Discussion list and the wiki page. The core members like Andrew, you, me and others interested, we can simply coordinate via Skype if necessary.
The wording Activation is generally used when we need to coordinate with UN-Agencies and other partners. For example, in 2012 we have mapped intensively in north of Mali without moving to an Activation We moved to an Activation only when we had a request fro UN-Ocha and started to establish contacts with the humanitarian on the field.
I think that we can successly monitor this intervention as is for the time being.
For tasks such as roads and rivers, I agree that the Task Manager is not suited for that. The best would be to have a list of tasks to do, where a contributor can add simply is name to indicate that he take care of this task. As for the Task Manager, there should be an option to confirm that he finished the task. Could a simple wiki page do the Job. If this seems to complicated for certain contributors, what would be the other options?
Pierre

>* other mapping coordination? things like mapping in lots more rivers in the mountains could be worthwhile, but may be less suited to a task manager grid. We could use 'notes' just as I did in the Philippines once, coordinating river mapping with OpenStreetBugs
>* Supply more info to potential data *users* on the wiki page. We should have templates for this really. How can we get our data into the hands of aid people?
>* I will tweet a link to the wiki page from @hotosm.
>* reply to crisis mappers with a link to our wiki page?* Call it an "activation"?
