Hello Claire,
Yes, I'm waiting confirmation from our national coordinator in DRC to confirm this dataset is up to date and ready to go before sending you this dataset.
I will also be meeting with Mikel Maron on Monday with two other people interested in collaborating on data for Africa.
One of them is actually working on DCR as well.
We will in touch soon then!
Cheers,
Pascal

Sorry Pascal,

It seems I had misread your email about late 2012 data.
That's good if those ones have already been made available on your side.
I hope we'll be able able to collaborate all together to get those data into OSM in the most effective way.

Best regards,

Claire

Hi Pascal,

Great to have news from you and about the data WRI is sharing! Could you tell us more about the data of the different datasets, for every area? Claire Halleux recently pointed out the last updated data for DC would not be available yet and the existing one is from 2009. Metadata can be found for every dataset on WRI webiste (I did not check yet)?

Sincerely,

Severin

Hey Mikel,
Just may be to give an info, the road had been collected through Landsat images observation and completed with GPS field observation.
Some of the logging roads had been provided by the timber companies, sometimes one track for a network of roads.
As I mentioned yesterday to the Eurosha-team, I will be providing the latest road network we have for CAR and DRC, from late 2012. It won?t be helping at a town scale but more at the national scale.
I also would be interested to participate to a mapping party if this can help.
Best regards,
Pascal
