[HOT] OSM in the Energy Sector

Hi HOT,

If there are some people who have come across examples and experiences  
of mapping energy facilities in relation to OSM, can you please share?

We mapped some poles and lines from field level/surveys some time back  
(2011) on our mapping events, and ITO can make visualisations of these;

And we also uploaded a dataset of 2004, for Uganda's power network,  
which can also be visualised

Last year in July 2012, the energy sector GIS working group organised  
a workshop where we gave a presentation about mapping day Uganda and  
OSM.

Three months later; in October, the Energy Sector GIS Working Group  
got an award for the best Map at a GIS conference in Naivasha, Kenya.

The winning map has/used OSM as a base-map!! as a result from the  
workshop and the presentation we gave :)

In Uganda, this week (23rd-27th September), has some activities to  
mark the energy week, and we shall meet once again this year 2013,  
with the Energy sector GIS Working group in the coming days.
