Hey everyone. Sorry for blasting the list this morning with all the
calendar messages. I think I have sorted out the issue now, but I
wanted to explain shortly here what happened.

There were .ics files sent out for the various workgroup meetings. I
set up a calendar in thunderbird and imported them into there to get
reminders for when the meetings come up. Unfortunately, however, the
.ics files listed the hot@ and hot-members@ email addresses as
"attendees" of the meetings. Thunderbird apparently notifies everyone
attedning a meeting when a change to the event takes place. So due to
the interaction between thunderbird and my google calendar sync the
software ended up sending out a bunch of notices to the attendees
which unfortunately went to everyone on the list.

I temporarily disabled the calendar, went into the calendar on google
and deleted all the events from there (telling it not to inform
attendees of the changes), so the emails should stop now.

I do however think the .ics system is a good one for tracking when
these meetings happen as it automatically handles time zones, and
people can get automatic reminders in their phone, etc, for when the
meeting is about to start. So I think the .ics files would be good to
use, we just need to be careful to make sure that there are no
"attendees" listed in them so that notifications don't get sent out
like that, or if we are going to list attendees, make sure not to
include the mailing lists.

Anyway, sorry for the big mess. I definitely learned something new
today. :)
