Yes and yes.

Details are excellent topic for the Working Group. What exactly are our documentation needs?

 OK but a
document about what, exactly? How to run an activation? How
to participate to an activation as a volunteer -and they
would take the position of potential volunteers reading the
 guidance?

Yeah, what Mikel said. It’s good
to document things with fresh eyes, you assume a lot less.
As I proposed before, it’s up to us to be engaged and
 provide that
humanitarian + activation context to their
 work.

 Harry, Andrew Braye from the
British Red Cross and Ivan from MSF gave them a nice
walkthrough. We’ll see if any students take up the
 challenge.

 Possibly a document that's
clear and understandable, no matter what your experience
level. When it comes to documenting a process, it
can be an asset to have to learn and understand a new
domain, because the explanation will mirror your own
learning experience. We often know too much about what we
are trying to explain to have sufficient distance to know
what needs to be explained, and the
result can be unclear and full of assumptions. I think the
work on the LearnOSM translation guide is a good example of
 when this approach can work.

 Dear
 all,

 I renewed the
Doodle for the AWG Kick-Off meeting, as many (including
myself) could not attend the meeting on IRC last Friday: http://doodle.com/hpwkwqiregdi7b6i

 @Robert What kind
of document this class will exactly produce, as they do not
 have any humanitarian nor activation
 experience?

 Sincerely,

 Severin

 OK. Just a heads up
to everyone that Harry Wood, Andrew Braye and perhaps Nick
Allen are presenting to the UCL "How to Save the
 World" class on HOT,
the Red Cross etc. As I suggested previously, we're
asking the class to help document some of the work that goes
on during and around activations. Nick, Russell Deffner and
I talked this through on IRC in lieu of a full working group
 meeting.

 Hi all,

Sorry for not having been present yesterday for the meeting,
but there was no internet at all (wired, 3G, nor Edge) last
night in Koudougou, Burkina where I am. Yes, I will create a
 new Doodle for next week.

 Sincerely,

 Severin
