Hi again, posting a summary of my activation duty/shift for today.

= First the numbers =

“2182 mappers have made 58250 edits to highways and 91850 edits to
buildings in 31094 changesets since April 25, 2015.”

That’s 64% more than yesterday. Thanks to all contributors!
But our work is not yet over. We have new tasks for you today [1].
Most of the previous ones are nearly complete, of course, we need more
experienced mapper to validate. I know some of you are pulling hairs
seeing a lot of newbie mistakes [2], that is fine
we will correct it along the way. After this activation we need to
reflect on better ways i.e. tools and training materials to better
help newbies.

Just remember you, once, you were a newbie. ;)

= Post-EQ imagery =
We are now using post-EQ imagery for mapping IDP camps [3]. Big thanks
to Pleiades, DigitalGlobe, MapBox and the rest of our imagery
specialist for making this available.
As I write this, our great team from Kathmandu Living Labs is
preparing IDP camp maps for the Nepalese army.

There are a lot of data quality issues on this data nothing we can of
course fix (kudos to Fred M!), but for those organizing mapping events
or doing the this task yourself please be careful to avoid duplicates.

= More data download options =

For consumers using our data we have more options available in the
wiki [4]. From specific printable maps [5] to GIS friendly formats
[6] updated every 30 minutes.

= Detailed building damage assessment? =

There are requests for us to do damage assessment, it has been
discussed by the activators.
Other than doing detailed base mapping and IDP camps, damage
assessment is still being discussed.

That’s it for now. Keep on mapping!
