Dear Tom’s family,

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's death and we, the Bangladesh OpenstreetMap
community want to express our most sincere sympathies to the family during
this difficult time. Tom was a highly valuable and respected member of our
great and dynamic global community of HOT and OSM and the effects of his
passing are already being felt the community.

I knew from Tom’s profile that he started osm with geocaching. What a bold
career and life he lived!! No obstacles stopped him in his journey for
contributing to humanity. From some HOT members I also have known that he
made many great contributions to the OSM and humanitarian field. He was
chair of LearnOSM working group. He told in his user’s profile “*Possibly I
can do some mapping while I'm away*”. We wish Tom will always be mapping in
heaven too. His work here will not soon be forgotten.

Tom will be greatly missed by HOT community and everyone here in Bangladesh
community is saddened by his death. Know that our thoughts and prayers are
with Tom and his family and friends during this difficult time.

With sincere sympathy,

Ahasan
