Hi,

Google Translate translates these characters as : "Space" (with
alternative meanings "clearing", "area",...)

The example way you give doesn't look flat at all (but this might not be
obvious for a beginner).

Task 995, referred to in changeset comment, was about road network
(http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/995 )

Good idea to contact the new user. You could understand what his or her
intention was, explain how OSM works and point to tutorials, and help
improve her or his mapping.
