[HOT] Lebanon garbage crisis

Hi Max,

This would definitely be a bit different than our typical disaster or humanitarian mapping project, but none the less there is potential for OSM to aid the recovery/solution to the problem. Are you a local mapper? Or maybe there is an OSM mailing list for Lebanon? Immediately I could see just making sure those companies that people can drop off garbage are on the map and maybe reaching out to Beirut Syndrome maintainers to see about adding a map to their site. In the longer term we would need to analyze what map data is missing and/or could be beneficial to the decision makers and/or locals dealing with the situation.

In general, first we just need to really understand what if any impact remote mapping can have; then we can strategize about the best approach.

Thanks and welcome!

Subject: [HOT] Lebanon garbage crisis

Dear all,

as I'm completely new at HOT I have no overview so far but just wonder
if there is any mapping done regarding the Lebanon garbage crisis?
Just saw that there are some efforts done but without "georeference"
so far:

Greetings
Max
