Hi Pete,

I am not sure how much traction it will get you, but it looks like diary 
related issues and feature requests are accepted at the osm website git 
hub repo:

https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website

Searching the issues for is:issue is:closed diary is somewhat illuminating.
