Greetings everyone,

It has just been incredible to see the progress on Vanua Levu; so Thank You!
I know we all like to 'know for sure' that our efforts will be utilized, and
although the AWG still hasn't received a request/direct use-case to make
this a 'full-blown' disaster mapping incident; I can assure you that we've
made so much impact on the data in Fiji, that now routing apps and such will
be one thousand times more effective and useful.

It is my intention to keep the projects coming unless another incident
requires us to divert attention. That said, I just updated the instructions
on project 1623; many of you probably noticed that as we approach Labasa,
it's becoming a much different 'type of mapping' - this is a heavily
developed farming community and therefore the road network 'looks much
different' than what we've been mapping on Vanua Levu so far. Most
importantly I added 'highway=service' into the mix of 'typical roads' you'll
find around here. Also, being farmland, there are a bazillion 'farm tracks'
(highway=track) that don't really help in terms of disaster relief; so where
we said before that 'highway=path' are not essential unless they lead
to/from settlements; that 'rule of thumb' should also apply in these areas -
in other words, don't spend too much time, and validators - don't 'beat them
up' if they are not tracing these 'roads to no-where'.

In general, my goal is to have buildings and the road network to get to
those buildings. And that's were highway=service will come more into play
in this area; basically the difference between the farm-tracks
(highway=track) and the 'driveways' (highway=service) is whether or not they
lead to buildings.

Thanks again, and Happy Mapping!
