[HOT] Mapping party gone wrong? (#1661)

In the last hour its gone from 1-2 contributors to 17 - while it is top of
the task manager, there's mapping like this:

All locale: it
All a similar username pattern.
All accepted terms within the last month.
All seem to be tracing forest weirdly / ignoring task directions.

It's pretty late where I am, and have added comments on a few of the
changesets, but can someone else have a look and see if there's a stream of
bad edits taking place without tasks being marked as done?
