I have a tendency to look for problems but that's just me.

I'm a little surprised by the location. I don't think there is much
parking in the area. Street parking is restricted to two or three hours
because of the office buildings nearby. Ottawa has an excellent bus
service and the location is eleven minutes walk from Bayview transit
station. There are nearer buses but they are less frequent.

Hopefully the new office block will have a coffee bar with wifi but the
nearest food I can think of at the moment is probably fifteen to twenty
minutes walk away.

Did you talk nicely to Global affairs Canada? A couple of years ago they
sponsored an Open Data conference in Ottawa so there were no conference
fees. However it took place before the start of term and the World Bank
put up many attendees at the University of Ottawa hall of residence which
was a bus stop away from down town and the conference centre. U of O is
down town, Carlton University is a little further out. Tracey at Carlton
is heavily into Open Data and has been instrumental in getting Open Data
into OpenStreetMap. The total cost including accommodation per attendee
would probably be much less at one of the universities. Hotel
accommodation in Ottawa is expected to be at a premium this summer with
Canada celebrating its 150th birthday.

The NCC has been known to open up the museum lecture theatres, and Alterna
savings is a cooperative bank that has a new office block very close to
Westboro transit station with a brand new Second cup coffee shop with wifi
besides it. If its community then if I or someone talks nicely to them
something might be arranged. Down town and Westboro have a much wider
range of shops and restaurants by the way.
