[HOT] What's up with the Working Groups? [HOT WG updates, August 2021]

Hi everyone,


I'd like to share an update on what the Working Groups are currently
working on and how you can get involved! (For schedule of meetings and

Activation Working Group (next meeting: 6 August, 12AM UTC)

The Activation WG has been conducting workshops to revise and improve
the Activation
Protocol Document <https://bit.ly/3fdhBCe> (every Thursday, after the
Activation WG meeting). Currently, they are working on the Activation Roles
- you are welcome to continue participating in the Miro Board (check the
Roles vs. Tiers frame) <https://bit.ly/3lhHNiG>.


Community Working Group (next meeting: 3 August, 18:00 UTC)

The Community WG uses the Community WG Forum
<https://bit.ly/communitywgforum> - an open space for everyone who cannot
participate "real-time" to the Community WG meetings or chat conversations (
Slack <https://slack.hotosm.org/>, Telegram
<https://t.me/openmapping_community_wg>). Active needs of the WG include

Governance Working Group (next meeting: 3 August, 15:00 UTC)

Governance WG meets every first Tuesday of the month at 15:00 UTC. Priority
topics include the 2021 Election Procedures and proposed amendments to the
bylaws (see Agenda here <https://bit.ly/3BX3eLY>), among others.


Technical Working Group (next meeting: 10 August, 09:00 & 14:00 UTC)

Join the Tech WG meeting on 10 August in two time zones: 09:00 UTC

(see links to register!)! hot_tech will give a brief overview about the OSM
Galaxy project. Feel free to add any agenda item or present any

Training Working Group

Training WG meets every other Monday at 18:30 UTC. They will be hosting an iD
editor Beginner’s Training on 14 August at 10:00 UTC

10 at 17:00 UTC.


Quality Control and Assurance Working Group (next meeting: 5 August, 04:00
UTC)

The WG is currently focusing on workflows to archive old TM Projects
(Project Gardening) <https://bit.ly/3ifDe6s> and Problem User Escalation
Process <https://bit.ly/37p4MjX>, among others. (Agenda notes here
