Hi!
Would you like to read about what the Disaster Services Team has been up to
lately? If so, please, keep reading! Below you can find the first update of
our Bi-Weekly Updates, that will be shared
Additionally, if you would like to get more involved, you can help us
mapping at the Tasking Manager (https://tasks.hotosm.org/), join the
#disastermapping channel in slack and participating from our weekly slack
meetings, and become an active part of the Activation Working Group by
undergoing in HOT's training center (https://courses.hotosm.org/).
Although things have seemed to slow down a bit, that is quite relative
after having our 11 month response to COVID-19 come to something of an end.
While transitioning to COVID Vaccination campaigns we also have a 2 of the
3 team members transitioning homes. Toni (our team lead) moving within the
same city and Russ (our Response Coordinator) moving across the earth (from
the Philippines to the United States) so a bit of slow-down in response is
quite welcome.
*Activations & responses:*
- *Chamoli Glacier Burst *(India): Providing NASA and Planetary Science
Institute instructions and links to getting data in the area.
- *Search For Rohit *(India): Concluding, planning an After Action
Review with the coordinating party for early March.
*Size-ups:*
Currently there is only one size-up ongoing. This size-up has been going
for a while as part of the COVAX Working Group which is starting to come
together towards some tangible action soon.
- *COVID Vaccination Campaign *(Global): Details To Be Determined
*Recently concluded:*
- *COVID-19 *(Global): Performed After Action Review Wednesday Feb 17
Again, if you would like to get more involved, do not hesitate to stop by
the #disastermapping channel in our Slack or reach out directly to Russ,
Claudio, or Toni for further details.
-best,
Disaster Services Team
