Martien,
The LCCWG (Local Chapters and Community Working Group) sponsored the new
Welcome Tool's, https://welcome.osm.be, development and deployment. The
tools can be configured to capture first time HOT mappers so a customized
welcome message can be sent to them. I've been using the new tool for a
couple of months to welcome new mappers in my home state of Washington.
It's an easy tool to use with the ability to have multiple messages and
have those messages in different languages.

More information on the tool can be found on github at
https://github.com/osmbe/osm-welcome-tool

If you are interested, I'd like to discuss how we can incorporate new HOT
mappers in the Tool.

Best,
Clifford
